The
Meadows School is a generic Special School providing high quality education to
young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. The
school has expertise in working with those who have complex needs in terms of
their physical and sensory development, communication and interaction, as well
as those with more moderate cognition and learning difficulties. The school
provides education to over 130 students aged between 11 and 19 from
Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Stoke on Trent. The school is organised
through a combination of chronological age, key stages and learning needs.
The school is part of the Manor Hall Academy
Trust and forms a Federation with Springfield School, a generic primary Special
School.
We are looking for an inspiring and imaginative teacher who is able to
adapt their style of teaching to ensure that learning is fun, practical and
creative. The successful candidates would need to be able to demonstrate
they can meet the needs of secondary-aged children. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of a range of SEND.
The Successful Candidate Will Provide

- Deliver
learning activities to pupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting
activities according to pupil responses/needs
- Contribute
to curriculum planning, evaluation and implementation
- Support
pupils’ learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with
individuals, groups and whole classes (where the assigned teacher is not
present) using detailed knowledge, experience, specialist skills and training
- Organise
and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
- Under
an agreed system of supervision, plan and prepare teaching and learning
objectives, adjusting activities/work plans as appropriate
- Undertake
more complex marking of planned work
- Monitor
and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities using a range of assessment
and monitoring strategies against pre-determined learning objectives
- Establish
constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information,
facilitating their support for their child’s attendance, access and learning
and supporting home to school and community links
- Provide
objective and accurate feedback and reports as required, to other staff on
pupils’ achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of
appropriate evidence (e.g. Headteacher)
- Deliver
learning activities to pupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting
activities according to pupil responses/needs
- Contribute
to curriculum planning, evaluation and implementation
- Use
ICT effectively to support learning activities
- Contribute
to development of school policies and procedures by participation in working
groups
- The
development, preparation and dissemination of appropriate materials
- Determine
the need for, prepare and use specialist equipment, plans and resources to
support pupils.
