At Hexthorpe Primary Academy, we’re excited to welcome a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience across the primary age range who is ready to make a real impact.

About the Role

As a HLTA, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll lead lessons during teacher PPA time, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with staff to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering lessons in the absence of a teacher
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs in and out of the classroom
  • Promoting positive behaviour and acting as a role model
  • Assisting with classroom organisation and resource preparation
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including lunchtimes and trips
  • Supporting the use of ICT and digital learning tools

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 2 years’ experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Holds a HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths)
  • Understands the national curriculum and how to support learning across subjects
  • Is confident, enthusiastic, and committed to inclusion and safeguarding
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and eager to contribute to school life
