Catcliffe Primary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is central to supporting pupils’ learning across the school, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key responsibilities will include: Working closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning. Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups, including pupils with SEND. Helping to prepare resources and maintain an organised learning environment. Supporting children’s social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour. Assisting with classroom routines, displays, and administrative tasks as required. Supervising pupils during transitions, playtimes, and other non-classroom times. Contributing to school-wide activities and enrichment opportunities. Essential skills and qualities: Experience of working with children in a school or similar setting. An understanding of the primary curriculum and strategies to support learning. Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behaviour management. Ability to adapt support for pupils with additional needs. Good teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
