The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Teaching Assistant to join an already existing committed team at Selston High
School. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic hard-working and is passionate
about supporting young people achieve their best. The successful candidate will
work in partnership with teachers to support learning in line with the national
curriculum, codes of practice, policies and procedures. The Admin Support
responsibilities of the role will include duties such as the use of systems, producing
letters, answering calls, analysing data, organising files and minuting
meetings.
The role is made up of two elements: Teaching
Assistant (Level A) 2.5days and Admin Support 2.5days. The school may consider
those who are interested in just one of the roles or any job share
enquiries.
The person:
Patience will be key to this role as you will
be supporting students in a specific curriculum area or support students with
varying degrees of learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or
physical difficulties. You will play an integral part in ensuring students with
any degree of SEND meet targets and progress in line with students not on the
SEND register. The successful candidate will also need to have strong IT skills
and be confident at using Microsoft Office products. It is important the post
holder also possesses positive customer service skills and has the ability to
communicate with staff, parents and students effectively.
