Kingsteignton School are seeking to appoint an excellent class teacher – and proven leader – to join our team on a maternity basis.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about improving outcomes for all children and who has a proven track record in raising pupil attainment.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive staff team, who are part of the Education South West multi-academy trust, and to join a leadership team who are forward-thinking and dedicated to raising standards for the betterment of the school’s children

The successful candidate will prioritise building strong relationships and connections with all stakeholders and will have the vision, passion and drive to achieve excellent outcomes for all pupils. They will be a strong communicator and will model the high expectations they expect of their team on a daily basis. Furthermore, they will demonstrate a positive outlook, be solution-focused and will encourage all children to aspire and ‘dream big’.

The successful applicant will also:

·         Have a passion for inspiring learners through exciting and innovative curriculum experiences.

·         Have high expectations of themselves, their colleagues and their pupils, modelling aspiration in their daily being.

·         Be keen to engender a calm sense of support, nurture and care for our children.

·         Demonstrate resilience and determination to ensure our provision is of the highest standard.

·         Be flexible and adaptable to be able to meet the varied needs of our children.

·         Be a positive role model for the children - and to the colleagues they line manage.

·         Have a desire to develop their own skills and career progression and be part of the whole life of the school.

·         Be able to evidence impact (when leading a team or at whole-school level) of raised standards as a result of their leadership.

At Kingsteignton School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

The school is committed to developing their teachers and leaders and will – through the appraisal process – provide additional support to enhance the successful candidate’s teaching and leadership skills.

As this class teacher and team leader post is a Maternity Cover, it is subject to the associated conditions and will finish when the current post holder returns to school (predicted to be February 2027).

Please contact the school by email on info@kingsteigntonschool.org.uk or telephone on 01626 563888 if you wish to find out more or arrange a visit, which we strongly encourage.
