About this Role

Join Our Team at Edwalton Primary School

At Edwalton Primary School, we are dedicated to fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment where both our pupils and staff can thrive. As part of the Flying High Partnership, we believe in delivering an exceptional education that empowers children to reach their full potential. Whether through music, sport, the arts, or academia, we strive for excellence at Edwalton. Our school is a place where creativity, collaboration, and commitment come together to create a truly unique learning experience.

We use our unique and special grounds to help bring our curriculum to life. We are lucky to have a working farm with alpacas, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even lambs in spring, which enhances the children's (and staff's) experience. We also have a 3-acre woodland where activities such as cross country, forest school clubs, and nurture groups take place. Our woods also house a huge mud kitchen, problem-solving areas, den-building zones, and four outdoor classrooms.

We believe staff well-being is key to ensuring children are happy and achieve their full potential, and that well-being is a culture developed through job satisfaction over time. Our staff turnover is extremely low, and we believe this is due to the fantastic atmosphere, great people, and the environment we create.

About the Role

We’re seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed individual to support and enrich children's lunchtime experiences through engaging outdoor play. As a Lunchtime Play Worker, you’ll help create a safe, stimulating environment that promotes fun, physical activity, and positive behaviour, all in line with play principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in a safe and inclusive wraparound care setting.
  • Supervise children during sessions, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Coordinate smooth transitions between classes and wraparound care.
  • Maintain a welcoming, well-resourced environment and communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Support the overall ethos of the school through teamwork and flexibility.

We Are Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
  • A positive and proactive team member who communicates well and works collaboratively with others.
  • Someone who values inclusion and believes in the potential of every child.
  • A dependable and flexible person who maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Someone who understands the importance of safeguarding and wellbeing in a school setting.

We Can Offer You:

  • A commitment to people across our partnership, underpinned by our people principles: adaptability, wellness, recognising achievement, employee voice and engagement, professional development and growth, inclusivity, and collaboration.
  • A warm and welcoming school community where every member of staff is valued.
  • A supportive and friendly team that works together to create a positive environment for children and staff.
  • Opportunities for relevant training and development to help you grow in your role.
  • Access to an employee assistance programme offering wellbeing and practical support.
  • The chance to make a real difference to children’s lives every day in a rewarding and valued role.
