About this Role

Join Danecourt School as an Assistant Headteacher – Outreach Lead
Lead with purpose. Champion inclusion. Transform SEND provision at scale.

Hours: Full Time, 27 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Leadership Scale

Are you an inspiring and experienced leader with a passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND?

Danecourt School is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher – Outreach Lead to join our senior leadership team and lead the development of the Maritime Outreach Support Service (MOSS). This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver high-quality outreach provision across the Maritime Academy Trust and beyond.

About Danecourt & Maritime Academy Trust

Danecourt School is a highly regarded special school supporting children aged 4–11 with complex and additional needs, including autism, communication needs and sensory differences. We are a values-driven, inclusive school where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

As part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we are committed to collaboration, innovation, and developing expertise across all our schools. Through MOSS, we extend this impact beyond our own setting — supporting mainstream schools to build inclusive practice and improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.

About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher – Outreach Lead, you will play a key strategic role in championing inclusive practice across the Trust and wider community.

You will lead and develop the Maritime Outreach Support Service, working closely with schools, families and external professionals to ensure children with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a highly skilled team of specialist outreach professionals

  • Drive the vision, strategy and growth of outreach and inreach services

  • Provide expert guidance to schools on SEND identification, assessment and inclusive practice

  • Design and deliver high-quality CPD, coaching and training for school staff

  • Strengthen leadership capacity and inclusive provision across Trust schools

  • Build strong partnerships with families and multi-agency professionals

  • Monitor impact, evaluate provision and drive continuous improvement in SEND outcomes

This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to influence practice at scale and shape inclusive education across multiple settings.

Who You Are

We are looking for a dynamic and committed leader who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has significant experience of SEND leadership and inclusive practice

  • Has a proven track record of leading outreach, school improvement or system-wide initiatives

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND needs and effective mainstream provision

  • Has experience delivering high-quality CPD and developing staff practice

  • Is an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships across schools and services

  • Is a strategic thinker with the ability to lead, inspire and influence others

  • Is passionate about improving life chances for children and young people with SEND

What We Offer

Danecourt offers a welcoming, ambitious and inclusive environment where leaders are empowered to make a genuine difference. As part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we provide meaningful career opportunities, strong collaboration and the chance to shape SEND provision beyond a single school.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • A supportive and experienced leadership team, committed to collaboration and innovation

  • The opportunity to lead and shape a Trust-wide outreach service with real impact

  • Meaningful system-level influence, improving outcomes for pupils across multiple schools

  • Access to Trust-wide leadership development, networks and executive support

  • Strong multi-disciplinary working with families, therapists and external professionals

  • A culture of continuous improvement, with high-quality CPD and professional learning

  • A strong sense of purpose, where your leadership will directly impact inclusion and pupil outcomes

  • The opportunity to contribute to nationally recognised SEND practice and innovation
