About this Role

Join Our Inspirational Team at Loxley Hall School: A Unique Opportunity for Skilled Teachers

We are seeking a passionate and innovative qualified teacher who can bring creativity and excitement to learning while adapting to the individual needs of secondary-aged students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Our school provides a nurturing residential environment for 96 boys who have faced significant barriers in accessing mainstream education. We believe in creating an inclusive, supportive learning experience that encourages growth, resilience, and achievement for every student.

Who We’re Looking For:

We welcome candidates from both primary and secondary backgrounds, offering an opportunity for teachers with diverse experience to bring their skills to our school. We are looking for someone who:

  • Is inspiring and adaptable, with a flair for making learning engaging, practical, and fun.
  • Has experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, or a strong interest in developing these skills.
  • Can teach a broad range of general subjects (including Maths and English), with a particular advantage given to those with experience in delivering specialist subjects at GCSE level.
  • Demonstrates a passion for creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive.

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic and supportive environment: Work alongside a team of dedicated professionals, supported by trustees who provide strong leadership, challenge, and guidance.
  • Professional development: We are committed to the ongoing development of our staff and will provide opportunities to grow your skills and career within a supportive framework.
  • Access to excellent benefits: We offer a comprehensive and flexible Employee Assistance Program, including:
    • Tech and Cycle-to-Work schemes
    • Online gym classes and health & wellbeing support
    • Financial advice services
    • Thinkwell fast-track counselling
    • Physiotherapy and retail discounts at supermarkets, high street stores, and for days out.

Your Application:

We encourage you to visit our school before applying so you can experience first-hand the positive, welcoming environment we foster. We offer guided tours of the school, either individually or in small groups—simply contact the School Office to book a tour (01889 723050).

Please note that references will be requested prior to the interview, and shortlisted candidates will be asked to teach a lesson during the interview process. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (former CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. A copy of our safeguarding policy can be found here. Please apply online via MyNewTerm.

Become a key part of Loxley Hall School’s continued success. Help us inspire the next generation of learners and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

We look forward to hearing from you!
