About this Role

Are you committed to supporting young people with additional needs and helping them to flourish academically, socially and spiritually?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Intervention Support Assistant to join our caring and inclusive Catholic secondary school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through targeted interventions, helping to remove barriers to learning and enabling every child to reach their God-given potential.
About the Role
Working under the guidance of the SENDCo, you will deliver tailored interventions and provide in-class support to students with a range of needs. You will play a key role in nurturing students’ confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing within a supportive, faith-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions for SEND pupils, both in and out of the classroom
  • Support students’ learning through differentiated activities and small group work
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENDCo to monitor progress and adapt provision
  • Promote the social, emotional and behavioural development of students
  • Support pupils in preparing for examinations and managing school routines
  • Build positive, respectful relationships that reflect the school’s Catholic values
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all students
What We’re Looking For
  • A caring and patient individual who is passionate about supporting young people
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of a Catholic school
  • Experience of working with children or young people with SEND (desirable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meeting students’ needs
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Why Join Us?
You will be part of a welcoming school community rooted in Gospel values, where every individual is valued and supported. We are committed to staff development and wellbeing, and to creating an environment where both students and staff can thrive.
