About this Role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and skilled Site Manager to join our friendly junior school community. This is a key role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for our pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will have experience in site management, facilities, or a similar role, good practical maintenance and DIY skills, and understand school health and safety requirements. You will be organised, reliable, and able to work independently, and enjoy working as part of a close school community and with our inquisitive pupils!

As part of the South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT), the successful candidate will not only support the day-to-day running of the school site but will also work closely with the Head of Estates and collaborate with site and estates colleagues across other SEEAT schools. This provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a wider professional network and contribute to Trust-wide estates developments and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the school premises are safe, secure, and compliant with health and safety regulations
  • Carry out maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks
  • Oversee cleaning standards and liaise with cleaning staff/contractors
  • Manage site security, including opening and closing the school
  • Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems
  • Support contractors on site and oversee works carried out
  • Maintain school grounds to a high standard
  • Carry out regular health and safety checks, including risk assessments

In return, we offer a welcoming and supportive school environment, and the opportunity to work as part of a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust. You will have access to collaboration with experienced estates professionals across the Trust and great opportunities for training and professional development. This is a varied and rewarding role, and a chance to make a real difference to the school community. You will have access to the full range of SEEAT staff benefits.

Holt Farm Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects its entire staff to share this commitment.
