PolyMAT is a small and ambitious MAT with a unique family feel that is seeking a Teacher of SEND with primary school experience.   Our vision is ‘Success for Everyone’ and the successful candidate will help deliver this for our schools. We currently have three schools in our Trust: Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, a long-successful boys’ school, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls that opened in 2019, and Bannockburn Primary School, a large successful primary that joined the Trust on 1st November 2023.  We also have our flourishing Sixth Form provision which is co-educational. Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys is looking to appoint an exceptional LARP teacher with a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching. An individual that will become an integral part of the department, who will support the department in achieving its ambitious targets and goals. We would like a teacher who believes in collaboration both for students and when working with colleagues.  The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to extra-curricular activities within the department.

• The LARP is for students with an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.  The aim is to provide students with the best possible learning environment to meet their individual needs for students to develop social, independent skills and gain qualifications relevant to their next steps.
• The LARP is a nurturing environment where we support LARP students to transition into a secondary mainstream environment and be part of the school community
• Develop communication and interaction and social skills with peers

We are looking for a teacher who has:

• Qualified Teacher Status with primary school experience
• Experience of working in a school environment, preferably within SEN, with ability to understand the complexities and challenges of working in this unique environment.
• Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies, and confident in the ability to adapt teaching to meet pupil’s needs.
• To be able to confidently communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and carers.
• To collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school – to be a good team player.
• Firm commitment to achieving the school’s vision and values.
