The Governors of Finch Woods Academy are seeking to appoint a Mathematics Teacher for September 2026.

Finch Woods Academy is a rapidly improving, innovative, forward-thinking specialist provision for male and female pupils from Year 5 through to Year 12. All of our pupils have EHCPs for Social, Emotional and Mental Health and other complex needs. Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged that we are operating at expected level for 5 of the inspected categories and strong in the category of Leadership and Governance. Finch Woods Academy is a part of Manor Hall Academy Trust, a specialist Trust of 16 academies, providing high levels of support, training and specialist teamwork across all schools.
This post will require the successful candidate to teach Mathematics up to and including GCSE and the appointee must have experience of delivering Entry Level and Functional Skills as well as maths enrichment across the school. The successful candidate will lead mathematics and support other teachers and assistants who might be delivering aspects of the curriculum, providing advice, support and training wherever it is needed.

Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality opportunity for all
Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position
Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils
Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
Fulfill the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document
