About this Role

Dunbury CE Academy are seeking to recruit a passionate, committed and aspirational Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team.  This is a full time, permanent position.

This role combines teaching responsibility with dedicated time out of class for leadership.

Dunbury is a small, caring, rural school, rooted in the values of trust, friendship, respect and courage, as recognised in our ‘Good’ OfSTED (2023) and outstanding SIAMs (2025).  We have happy and enthusiastic children, parents and staff who are supportive of each other.  The school’s vision “Strength in difference – together we are one, together we fly high” is held very close by all.

This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding practitioner who is ready to influence wholeschool improvement and help shape the next stage of our journey, rooted in Christian values and a commitment to excellence for all.

We are looking for someone who:

  •          is committed to high standards and relentless in securing strong outcomes for all pupils across the school;
  •          demonstrates consistently highquality class teaching and classroom practice;
  •          is passionate about using research driven approaches to ensure we give all our children consistency;
  •          is proactive, organised and solutionfocused;
  •          shows warmth, integrity and approachability, living out our Christian vision in daily practice;
  •          has strong interpersonal skills and is an excellent communicator with staff, pupils and parents;
  •          is openminded, flexible and reflective, with the ability to lead change positively;
  •          works collaboratively to develop teaching, learning and staff practice;
  •          is ready to lead significant wholeschool responsibilities and contribute to a strong safeguarding culture.

What we offer:

  •          clear, valuesdriven systems centred on enabling every child to flourish;
  •          a supportive and experienced leadership team with a strong commitment to professional development;
  •          dedicated leadership time to enable meaningful impact beyond the classroom;
  •          opportunities for leadership development within our Academy Trust;
  •          engaged, enthusiastic pupils and a welcoming school community;
  •          a culture of trust, collaboration and wellbeing.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and can be arranged by contacting the school office on 01258 880501
