Kingfisher School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and creative Primary Teacher to join our existing team of dedicated colleagues. Our school is highly inclusive, and we are proud to have high expectations of our young people who all have Education, Health, Care plans and need additional support to progress after unfortunate starts to their education.

 Kingfisher school is rated “Good” by Ofsted and is situated in the centre of Redditch. We are a four Key Stage SEMH school, who are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and pupil focused teacher.

We are an inclusive and friendly school which has a strong belief in the support of pupils who in the greatest need at the heart of our community.  We are an Academy School, part of the Central Learning Partnership Trust (CLPT) and work collaboratively across the Trust to ensure we are a best-practice school and maintain our very high standards. We strive to ensure our children receive an education which inspires and promotes positive learning and ensure that rigorous CPD supports all staff in becoming the best they can be.

 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  Qualifications and Training

·         Educated to A level or above, including a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) grade C in math’s and English.

·         A 2:1 degree in any discipline.

          PGCE or QTS required

          Experience

  • At least one year in a teaching environment.
  • Successfully leading and managing a class of pupils.
  • Teaching unsupervised.
  • Planning and preparing lessons.
  • Setting appropriate learning objectives.
  • Adapting learning plans for individual pupils.
  • Monitoring and recording pupils’ academic development.
  • Marking work against the national curriculum.

·         Producing pupils’ academic reports.

 Knowledge and Skills

  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum.
  • An ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of all achievers.
  • Experience in the use of ICT across the curriculum.
  • An ability to work creatively and sensitively with children.
  • An understanding of the different approaches and methods of teaching.
  • An understanding of the use of formative, summative and observational assessment to evaluate learning.
  • The ability to set appropriate and relevant learning objectives.
  • The ability to assess and report the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
  • An understanding of school quality procedures.
  • A wide knowledge of educational terminology.

·         The ability to build and develop appropriate relationships between the school and parents, as well as between other staff members.

In accordance with the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009 the Governors are required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers the age range from birth until 1st September following a child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified ‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009
