About this Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven Attendance Lead who believes, as we do, that every day in school matters. This is more than a data driven role – it’s about changing lives through building strong relationships, understanding individual stories, and removing the barriers that prevent children from attending. You will play a central role in shaping a culture where attendance is valued, supported, and celebrated by pupils, staff, and families alike.

In this role, you will work closely with our leadership and safeguarding teams to identify pupils who need support, lead meaningful interventions, and engage families with empathy and clarity. We are proud of our support-first approach and we’re looking for someone who can combine high expectations with genuine care – someone who can balance challenge with compassion and is confident in working with a range of stakeholders to secure the best outcomes for children.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a tangible impact across a school community. If you are committed to improving attendance, strengthening safeguarding, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed, we would love to hear from you.

About us:

At Newark Hill Academy, our three values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility are ingrained in everything we do to ensure we have a consistent approach. Pupils learn best when they feel safe and emotionally supported - this is paramount. We heavily promote pupil well-being and readiness for learning by ensuring our pupils’ physical and emotional needs are met.

In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and highly valued people:

Alongside nationally agreed terms and conditions, we offer a generous benefits package. Here's a selection of what's on offer to our people in recognition of the huge difference they make to our children, their families and the communities we serve.

  • Access to Benefit Hub - the world’s largest discount marketplace
  • A free Wellbeing Gateway platform and mobile app
  • A free, 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme - confidential & compassionate support when you need it
  • Lease a brand‑new or pre‑loved hybrid vehicle through our Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme
  • Train & qualify as a Mental Health First Aider. We aim to have a qualified Mental Health First Aider in each academy
  • Supporting your professional development through CPD, Apprenticeships, Upskilling and Professional Review
  • Generous public sector pension schemes for everyone
  • Eye tests & Spectacles Discount
  • Family friendly policies and time off for dependants
  • Dedicated ECT support programme
  • Access to savings in childcare costs
  • Generous annual leave allocation
  • Automatic pay progression
  • Free parking on all sites
  • Principles on workload & directed time for teaching staff
  • Professional Supervision for Academy Leaders
