About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Midday Assistant (Play Leader) to join our team. This role is crucial to our school's operations, as the successful applicant will be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunchtime period, both in the dining hall area and during play activities. As a school that has initiated the OPAL project, we are eager for the successful candidate to understand this and be actively involved in the rollout. Please refer to the job description for more information on the role and responsibilities.

We are a supportive, well-led Academy – proud to be part of the Focus-Trust and we can offer:

· enthusiastic and well-behaved children

· a caring school community with active and supportive teachers, governors and families

· the opportunity to become an influential member of our excellent team ensuring the continuing development of our school.

If you are shortlisted, we will take up references before the interview date. One of your referees must be your current or most recent employer. Two satisfactory references must be received before we can confirm any offer of an appointment. The information we request will relate to salary, length of service, skills and abilities, suitability for the job, disciplinary record and suitability to work with children. Copies of references or open references will not be accepted. On receipt of references, your referees may be contacted to verify any discrepancies, anomalies, or relevant issues as part of the recruitment verification process.

In line with our safer recruitment policy, an online presence search will be undertaken if you are shortlisted. This online search is designed to complement the range of standard recruitment checks and allows us to identify a candidate’s online presence which potentially could damage the organisation’s reputation and/or question a candidate’s suitability to work with children.

Our school community places the highest priority on keeping our children safe. Applicants for all posts will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes. The holder of this post will be required to work with children under the age of 18 in a position of trust, and is, therefore, exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

The successful candidate will be subject to the relevant checks and enhanced DBS.
