About this Role

We are looking for a Learning Mentor to join our team here at Woodvale Primary Academy.

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children who need it most? We are seeking a dedicated and emotionally intelligent Learning Mentor to join our team and support our most vulnerable learners—those who benefit from extra guidance, encouragement, and care to thrive both academically and personally.

In this pivotal role, you’ll work alongside pupils in class and through targeted interventions outside of class, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build the confidence they need to succeed. You’ll be a trusted adult, a positive role model, and a consistent presence in their school journey.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Empathy and emotional resilience to connect with children facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges

  • Strong communication skills to build trust with pupils, staff, and families

  • Creativity and adaptability to tailor support to individual needs

  • Patience and persistence to celebrate small steps and stay committed through setbacks

  • Team spirit to collaborate closely with class teachers, and support staff

  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice

  • Integrity and consistency to be a reliable role model

  • Organisational skills to manage time, track progress, and contribute to pupil reviews

If you believe every child deserves someone in their corner—and you’re ready to be that someone—we’d love to hear from you.

About us:

We are a large, modern primary school situated in East Northampton where our pupils are hardworking, feel safe and enjoy learning in a happy and supportive environment.

All of our staff team are focussed on every child achieving their very best.

Our school is underpinned by 3 values that we believe are the keys to everyone thriving and that we ask all members of the school community to follow:-

  • We strive - this value relates to trying our best, to challenging ourselves showing perseverance and resilience.
  • We support - this value relates to supporting each other, working as a team, building effective relationships and supporting those who need it most to thrive.
  • We succeed - we believe that success leads to increased motivation and so we celebrate success in all its forms and we value achievement and accomplishment.

In return we have multiple benefits for our talented and highly valued people:

Alongside nationally agreed terms and conditions, we offer a generous benefits package. Here's a selection of what's on offer to our people in recognition of the huge difference they make to our children, their families and the communities we serve.

  • A comprehensive package of benefits via our benefits marketplace
