About this Role

Join a Team Where Standards Sparkle: Childcare Supervisor Wanted

There is a palpable energy at our school this week, and it’s not just because we’re diving into the "Spark Book Award" with stories like Once I Was a Tree. The real "School Sparkle" is in our surroundings: our school is looking beautiful. From our stunning library to the brand-new, meticulously organised Sensory Room and Sensory Wall, we have transformed our site into a calm, purposeful environment. Visitors are constantly commenting on how organised we are, and the impact is clear—calmer lunchtimes, better movement around the building, and children who are genuinely proud of their school. We believe that if we model pride—by picking up a stray piece of litter or fixing a display—the children will follow.

We are now looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Childcare Supervisor to lead our Breakfast and After School Clubs. Hours of working are 7:30am to 9:00am and 2:30pm to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. (25 hours per week) This role is a fixed term contract for up to Easter 2027.

In this role, you aren’t just "running a club"; you are the guardian of our school’s standards at the start and end of every day. You will lead a team that ensures our wraparound care is fresh, organised, and inspiring.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • A "Pride in Place" Mentality: You understand that a tidy, well-presented environment leads to calmer, happier children.

  • Inclusive Leadership: You’ll help manage our wraparound care provision, with a preventative and proactive approach.

  • Professional Energy: You’re ready to "chip away" at tasks to ensure our site always looks its best for visitors and—most importantly—our students.

If you are a professional who takes pride in the "little things" and wants to lead a wonderful wraparound service in a school that is truly on the move, we want to hear from you.

We would love to show you around our stunning site. Whether you are ready to apply now or just want to see if our culture is the right fit for your career:

Work With Us: Join a Community Committed to Your Growth

At our school, we believe that education has the power to change lives, and that starts with empowering the people who make it happen: our staff. As a proud member of the River Learning Trust (RLT), we offer a culture of "aligned autonomy," giving you the support of a large, successful multi-academy trust while allowing you the professional freedom to work exceptionally well in our own unique context.

What Makes Us Special?

We take immense pride in our school environment, from our stunning library to our brand-new, purpose-built Sensory Room and Sensory Wall. We believe that a beautiful, organised school creates a calm, purposeful atmosphere where both children and staff can thrive.

When you join us, you are choosing:

Unrivalled Professional Development: We are driven to help you thrive through wide-ranging CPLD opportunities, from "bite-size" content to formal qualifications and apprenticeships.

A Culture of Wellbeing: Your health and happiness are a priority. We follow a dedicated Staff Charter that guarantees access to a Wellbeing Champion, Mental Health First Aider, and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.

Respectful Relationships: We act with care, integrity, and fairness

Work-Life Balance: We are committed to flexible working wherever possible, including part-time and job-share options, supported by family-friendly policies and enhanced maternity, paternity, and sick pay

  • Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive  continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.

This role includes regulated activity relevant to children.

The school reserves the right to consider and interview candidates ahead of the closing date if appropriate. An offer may be made to an exceptional candidate in this instance.
