About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and dedicated Art teacher to join and lead our highly successful Art Department.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher and dynamic art practitioner, bringing energy, creativity, and a forward-thinking approach to Art. They will be committed to promoting the learning of art, celebrating student achievement, and engaging enthusiastically in all aspects of the role, both in and out of the classroom.

The school is a very heavily over-subscribed 11-18 Comprehensive School with 1710 students on roll including 390 in the Sixth Form.

The school offers a strong tradition of excellent outcomes but also a broad curriculum suited to all students. The school’s behaviour and relationships policy is robust, and staff have welcomed the introduction of centralised consequences and inclusive policies.

We believe our best resources are our teachers. There is a popular and thriving programme of continuing professional development in the department and across the school, at all levels, and colleagues have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally. The school also offers excellent promotion prospects and a comprehensive induction programme.

Colleagues benefit from a commitment to staff well-being and are provided with several schemes to support them in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. The priority admission of children of successful applicants applies for this subject.

Art is a highly popular and respected subject, and this is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring candidate to join us and continue to develop.
