The Role
We are seeking an organised, friendly and proactive Administration Assistant who will play a vital role in the smooth running of our busy school office. In this role, you will manage day‑to‑day enquiries, maintain accurate pupil and attendance records, support communication with families, and assist with organising school events and operational tasks. You will help ensure our office remains a welcoming, efficient and supportive hub for pupils, staff, parents and visitors, contributing to the positive and nurturing environment at Highgate Primary Academy.
The working hours will be Monday - Thursday 8:30-3:30pm and Fridays 8:30-3pm with an hour for lunch each day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality administrative and clerical support within the school office.
  • Act as a first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors and external partners.
  • Manage incoming calls, emails and general enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Support attendance monitoring and maintain accurate pupil records.
  • Assist with organising school events, meetings and communications.
  • Carry out general office duties including filing, photocopying, data input and maintaining systems.
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with safeguarding expectations at all times.

  • Strong organisational abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Confidence using administrative systems, ICT and school software (training provided).
  • A team‑player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Someone who can work efficiently in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure.
