The Role

As 2nd in Maths, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Faculty to lead and develop our Maths department. You will help to inspire both colleagues and students, contributing to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, raising standards, and driving student progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher with leadership potential, eager to develop their career while making a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty in leading and managing the Maths department.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, teaching, and assessment.
  • Monitor student progress and set ambitious targets for improvement.
  • Support colleagues through guidance, coaching, and sharing best practice.
  • Deputise for the Head of Faculty when required.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular provision and enrichment opportunities.
  • Act as a role model, upholding high standards of behaviour, effort, and aspiration.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree-level education.
  • Ability to teach Maths across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience of motivating and inspiring students of all abilities.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to ensuring every pupil reaches their potential.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of current GCSE syllabus developments.
  • Experience with innovation in the classroom (e.g., interactive technology).
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities or school trips.
