About Us

King’s Hawthornes is proud to be part of the Great Schools Trust, a growing and ambitious multi-academy trust in the Northwest of England.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in supporting our thriving Food Technology department, alongside providing support to our vibrant Art department.

Reporting to the Faculty Lead, the successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of the faculty areas, including the ordering, preparation, cleaning and maintenance of materials and resources, and providing practical support in the classroom.

The role includes:

  • Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, including routine cleaning and equipment checks

  • Monitoring stock control and purchasing resources

  • Providing technical support to staff and students during lessons

  • Supporting safeguarding and student welfare, including awareness of food allergies

Why Join Us?

  • A trust that prioritises staff wellbeing

  • Flexible working opportunities

  • Weekly leadership link meetings to support professional and personal growth

  • Career development opportunities across the Trust

  • BUPA Employee Assistance Programme

  • Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme

  • This is a school where staff feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual who brings:

  • A good standard of general education, including GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent)

  • Food Hygiene Certification (Desirable)

  • Experience working independently and as part of a team

  • Experience in a practical environment and knowledge of health and safety requirements

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively

  • A genuine enjoyment of working with young people

  • A passion for Food Technology and Art

While experience across every aspect of the job specification is not essential, commitment, professionalism and strong organisational skills are key.
