Alternative Provision

Salary: Band B Point 7-12

(£18,587.80 - £20,133.40 actual salary per annum)

Additional allowance - £500 per annum

 

30 hours and 50 minutes per week

8:40am – 3:10pm, Monday – Friday, with a 20-minute unpaid lunch break

 37 weeks of the year – term time only

Start Date: 2nd February 2026

Fixed term until 31st August 2026

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with excellent behaviour management skills to take on a crucial role within our school in the Alternative Provision Annexe. The successful candidate should be familiar with SEMH and have previous experience of working with vulnerable children. They will possess the ability to make quick decisions and be a team player. The successful candidate will enable pupils with additional needs, including behaviour, to access learning through assisting them in understanding and managing their behaviour to enable them to become successful learners.

 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: -  

  • The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively 
  • The ability to build a strong professional relationship with the children and their families 
  • A willingness to take part in class planning and adapt it to the needs of the child where    applicable 
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Good behaviour management skills 
  • A good standard of English and Mathematics(Grade 4-9 or equivalent) 
  • The ability to communicate with parents and to attend professional meetings when required  
  • Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required)  
  • A willingness to support pupils with personal care
  • A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving life 
  • A commitment to supporting the delivery of education of the highest standard 

 East Tilbury Primary School is located in the heart of East Tilbury, near the town centre, a short distance from the train station, which is on the C2C Line between Shoeburyness and Fenchurch Street Station. Parking is available on-site and there are good transport links by both rail and bus. East Tilbury Primary School is just over nine miles from the M25.
