SEN Family Liaison Officer

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Up to 37 hours (Mon–Fri), Part/Full Time
Working Pattern: Term Time + 1 week & 1 INSET day (September)
Salary: H5.9 £27,254 FTE (pro-rata)
Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher (SEND)
About the Role
We are seeking a committed SEN Family Liaison Officer to support students with SEND by working closely with families, staff, and external agencies. You will play a key role in ensuring effective communication, coordination of support, and smooth statutory processes.
Key Duties

Act as first point of contact for SEND-related queries

Support and guide families to appropriate services and staff

Organise parent meetings and support Year 7 transition

Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR

Coordinate EHCP reviews and ensure deadlines are met

Liaise with external agencies and support referrals

Deliver targeted SEND interventions (e.g. Social Stories)
What We’re Looking For
Essential:

Strong admin, organisation, and communication skills

Excellent record keeping and attention to detail

Confident using Microsoft Office

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
Desirable:

Experience in a school or similar role

Knowledge of SEND/EHCP processes

Experience with MIS systems (e.g. Arbor)
