We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Design & Technology to join our supportive, well-equipped department. The value of Technology at Furze Platt is evidenced by the range of subjects we offer, so whatever your specialism you could be the perfect addition to our team. At KS3 our carousel includes Textiles/Graphics, Resistant Materials and Food Technology. At GCSE we offer a wide choice of courses including Design & Technology (Product Design), Engineering, Food & Nutrition, Hospitality & Catering and Textile Design. Product Design and Fashion & Textiles are also offered at A-Level. Our dedicated technicians will support you to deliver exciting lessons in which a wide range of skills are developed in our students, drawing on the use of our laser cutter, 3D printers, metalwork lathes, milling machine and many others. We are a proactive team, working together to develop and deliver engaging lessons and always interested in hearing fresh ideas.

A TLR may be available for the right candidate; this may not necessarily be subject based. We also are able to offer a July start to ECTs.

We are keen to ensure that we support the physical and mental wellbeing of our staff.  Discounted membership is available for the use of a fully equipped and well-maintained gym on-site.  Staff are provided with a laptop, and many have their own classrooms.  We offer access to an employee advice service (Care First) which provides information, helpful resources, and a counselling service.  We encourage community spirit and staff involvement through various social events, recent ones being the Christmas party, sports after school and a Furze Platt fantasy football league.  We also ensure that freshly brewed coffee is ready for you during break-time with edible treats to help you through the week!
