About this Role

Teacher of Science
MPS - UPS
Suitable for ECTs

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about science education and eager to make a real difference.

As a valued member of our Science team, you will play a key role in delivering high quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5. The ability to teach A Level Chemistry is highly desirable as we continue to strengthen our post-16 provision. You will plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons, provide effective assessment and feedback, and create a classroom environment where every student is able to achieve their very best.

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about Science and committed to raising standards across all year groups. You should have high expectations for yourself and your students, strong subject knowledge and a desire to continue developing your practice. You will be someone who is dynamic, creative and inspirational in the classroom and who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team. Above all, you will be committed to helping all students succeed and reach their full potential, while also contributing to the wider life of the Academy, including extra-curricular activities and pastoral support.

Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree in a science discipline. A strong commitment to safeguarding, professional development and collaborative working within the Trust is essential.

At Consett Academy, we are proud of our supportive, forward-thinking community. Our leadership team maintains a high presence around the Academy to support and develop staff, and our Trust’s specialist school improvement team is on hand to help you refine your skills and extend your expertise. We offer excellent career development opportunities across our growing multi-academy trust, a modern state of the art school building with excellent facilities, and a range of additional staff benefits.

If you are ready to inspire the next generation of scientists and contribute to an ambitious, inclusive and collaborative school community, we would be delighted to hear from you. We warmly encourage potential applicants to visit the Academy to see what we do, meet our staff and experience the ambitious and supportive culture that makes Consett Academy such a great place to work.

Our staff benefits include:
📚 Access to professional development and training
🎓Opportunities for career progression across our growing Trust
🧘 Wellbeing initiatives and staff support programmes
💰 Discounts and salary sacrifice schemes
🚗 Free on-site parking

Please note that we operate a probationary period of 6 months across all jobs in the Trust (see attached policy for further details). You will receive a comprehensive induction to support you to successfully pass your probation.
