About this Role

The role of an Exam Invigilator plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and smooth operation of exams.

We are looking to recruit several invigilators to support the Exams Manager with the smooth running of exams. The main sessions of examinations run during November, January, May and June however there are internal exams throughout the year. You will be employed on a casual basis to supervise students taking both mock and final exams, as necessary throughout the school year.

Full training will be provided and staff will be contacted prior to the exam period to discuss the invigilation schedule in relation to your availability. You will be working with staff and students under exam conditions so you will need to be focused, proactive, have excellent attention to detail and be able to remain calm in challenging situations. No specific examination experience is necessary, however an understanding of the formality and importance of the examinations would be appreciated.

Essential requirements are:

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • the ability to handle situations in a calm and logical manner and
  • to work independently as well as part of a team while supporting and taking direction from the Exams Manager.

This school is committed to safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS check will be required. This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
