SEND department is an integral team which allows all our students to access a
knowledge rich and inclusive curriculum. Our approach is warm but focused to
support our most vulnerable students to allow them to learn effectively,
prepare for adulthood and thrive in their chosen careers.
The successful applicant will be a key leader of a successful team that
demonstrates a positive and a hardworking ethos. Our SEND team go above and
beyond to support our students’ education and personal development. This has
led to Humberston Academy achieving an outstanding grading in Personal
Development.
Our recent Ofsted inspection stated, “Pupils’ additional needs,
including any special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are quickly
identified. The school works with external professionals to provide any
additional support that these pupils may need. Teachers help pupils with SEND
to access the curriculum. Pupils who access the school’s ‘Hive’ provision are
particularly well supported by the school.”

About our Academy
Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in
an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. As well as being Ofsted graded
outstanding in behaviour and attitudes, we have achieved an outstanding grading
in personal development. Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’
status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues
to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on
STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as
traditional route towards higher education.
Humberston Academy has also been appointed as the Teaching School Hub
for the local region which will allow all colleagues to access leading edge
career professional development in order to enhance the standard of teaching as
well as the opportunity to deliver CPD to colleagues locally in our profession.
