About this Role

PE and Dance Teacher
Longdean School

MPS/UPS
Full-time

Start: April 2026 or September 2026

Do you want to be a part of an exciting forward-looking school with a strong reputation, catering for students from year 7 through to year 13? The successful candidate would teach 75% PE and 25% Dance during their working week.

The Longdean School is a good school (Ofsted November 2025). We strive for excellence by teaching and preparing our young people to have confidence, to accept and respond to challenges, to have an enduring passion for learning and to become independent thinkers with respect for themselves and others.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, exceptional individual to take on the role of PE and Dance Teacher within our vibrant and busy PE and Performing Arts departments at Longdean School. The ideal candidate would be a netball specialist.

The successful candidate will be well organised, resourceful, adaptable, flexible and innovative. All applicants are welcome; you may be new to teaching, looking for your first post, or looking for a new challenge in your career.

Further details and an application form are available from HR at hr@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk, or on 01727 734424. CVs will not be accepted.

Closing date: 23 February 2026, 9am

Interview date: 5 March 2026

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The existence of a criminal background does not automatically mean that you cannot be appointed but it may do so.

Scholars’ Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
