About this Role

Thank you for your interest in joining Park High School.

Park High is a school of character and opportunity, known for its caring, harmonious ethos and high aspirations for every student. We are proud to provide an environment in which young people can flourish both academically and personally, supported by high standards, excellent pastoral care and a strong sense of community.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed Humanities Teacher with the ability to teach both History and Geography. This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience within a high-performing and supportive school. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time work.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and forward-thinking Humanities team in a diverse and multicultural school community. Humanities is a thriving and highly valued area of the curriculum at Park High, and we are proud of the rich and ambitious learning experiences we provide for our students.

History is a much-loved subject at Park High. Over the past five years, we have developed a new curriculum with a strong emphasis on enjoyment, relevance and challenge. Our teaching is informed by research into how students learn most effectively, and we are committed to being reflective, creative and collaborative in our practice. This has led to growing student enthusiasm for the subject, with GCSE uptake doubling over this period and consistently strong numbers at A Level. Our curriculum was also praised during our most recent inspection.

Alongside this, Geography plays a vital role in helping students understand the world around them. Our Geography curriculum is designed to be rich, diverse and intellectually challenging, encouraging students to explore contemporary global issues, places and environments with curiosity and confidence. From next year, we will begin teaching AQA GCSE Geography, so experience of this specification would be advantageous, although not essential.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to teach across both disciplines and to contribute to a department that values high-quality teaching, collaboration and curriculum development. We are looking for someone who can inspire students through engaging, rigorous and inclusive lessons, while fostering curiosity, confidence and a genuine love of Humanities.

We can offer:

  • A stimulating learning environment where innovation, challenge and engagement are central to teaching and learning
  • A vibrant, award-winning school with an excellent reputation locally and beyond
  • A strong commitment to the wellbeing of all members of our community
  • Outstanding student outcomes, including a significantly positive Progress 8 score and zero NEETs
  • Students who are motivated, well behaved and eager to learn
  • A supportive, enthusiastic and inspiring team within which to grow and develop
  • Genuine opportunities for professional learning and career progression

If you are passionate about teaching History and Geography, committed to high standards, and keen to make a meaningful contribution to a thriving school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
