About this Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Female PE to join our dynamic, well-resources PE department, at The Billericay School from February 2026, for a one year fixed term maternity cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, high-achieving school with excellent facilities and a thriving student body.

Main responsibilities

To teach Physical Education across the ability range in line with departmental scheme of work and policies.
To contribute towards the extra-curricular activities offered by the PE department.
To be Form Tutor of an assigned form and to carry out related duties in accordance with the general job description of Form Tutor.
To carry out a share of supervisory duties in accordance with published rosters.
To participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents relative to the above duties.
To plan and develop high quality lessons and courses, using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.
To maintain and build upon the standards achieved in the award for QTS (Secondary) as set out by the Secretary of State.
