Principal Responsibilities

To lead and manage the delivery of Chemistry at KS5 including the practical endorsement.
To ensure the Chemistry curriculum at KS5 supports all staff to deliver the content.
To support Coordinators and Head of Faculty to ensure the resources for KS3 and KS4 support all staff to deliver the Chemistry content.
To ensure that there is appropriate monitoring of teaching and learning of Chemistry
To raise standards of attainment and achievement in Chemistry
To be accountable for student progress within Chemistry
To monitor and support teachers and support staff in ensuring appropriate progress of individual children and teaching groups
To develop the quality of teaching and learning, in accordance with the school policies
To support the AAHT – Science and Engineering
To support school and departmental policies on training and performance management
To manage delegated financial resources and classroom facilities in the area they manage
To participate in school planning as members of the school management team when appropriate
To support school and department procedures for managing the overall progress, behaviour and development of students within the above areas
