We are looking for an energetic, creative teacher to join our strong and supportive team, to teach in our wonderful Nursery class (2/3 days per week).

Role Description
Class Teacher - Nursery 2/3 days per week (Maternity Cover)
MPS 1-6 £33,075 - £45,037 (per annum)
In addition to the General Professional duties set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document the following duties are attached to the post;
Purpose of the role
To deliver high quality teaching and learning to pupils who are assigned to the post holder, in accordance with the requirements of the Conditions of Employment of School Teachers, having due regard to the National Curriculum, the Academy’s aims, objectives and schemes of work, and any policies of the Academy and Trustees.
Accountability
· The post holder reports directly to the Principal/Assistant Principal
Key responsibilities
All teachers work within the statutory conditions of employment set out in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. The duties listed below are not an exhaustive list.
· Be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning of all pupils who are assigned to the postholder including;
- planning, teaching and class management
- monitoring, assessment, recording, reporting
- curriculum development
· Supervise the work of any support staff who are assigned to work with the postholder’s pupils
· Provide leadership across the school in a designated subject or curriculum area, this to include:
- monitoring quality and standards
- contributing to school planning and self-evaluation
- providing professional support to other teachers and support staff
- advising the staff on appropriate resources and materials
- leading appropriate professional development
· Meet the Teachers Standards.
· To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children.
· To comply with responsibilities under the Data Protection Act (1998) for the security, accuracy and significance of personal data held on paper or electronic systems
· To comply with the Trust’s policies.
· To supervise and provide individual support to pupils with identified additional needs
· To assist and support teaching staff in the planning and delivery of the curriculum to all pupils
· To provide assistance with pupil welfare whenever necessary
· To promote learning by developing and maintaining effective relationships with pupils
· To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Headteacher
Teachers in the upper pay range can be expected to make a particular contribution to building team commitment in line with the statutory requirement to meet threshold standards. In particular, teachers at Upper Pay Range will:
· provide a role model for professional practice

· contribute effectively to the wider team

This document will be reviewed annually, as part of the performance management programme. The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary. This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. · A commitment to further professional development
· Evidence of effective teaching and learning strategies
· Experience of teaching in EYFS
· An understanding of curriculum requirements in EYFS
· An understanding of monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting on pupil progress
