Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer, Connect Multi-Academy Trust (previously New College Durham Academies Trust)

North Durham Academy is seeking an exceptional Headteacher who will provide strategic leadership, operational excellence and an unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for every young person. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proven senior leader to shape the next phase of the Academy’s development—driving high standards, strengthening culture, and deepening our impact across the community.


What you’ll do

  •       Provide strategic leadership with clarity, ambition, and heart
  •       Embed an inclusive, and aspirational culture
  •       Lead operational delivery, safeguarding, quality, and compliance
  •       Recruit, develop, and inspire a highly skilled staff team
  •       Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents, carers, and local authorities
  •       Drive continuous improvement and innovation


About You

We are looking for a leader who brings both expertise and heart.  You will:-

  • Be an experienced Headteacher or Deputy Head ready for headship
  • Be deeply committed to inclusive education and aspirational outcomes for every student
  • Be emotionally intelligent, reflective and committed to continuous professional growth.
  • Have strong knowledge of the current Ofsted framework
  • Have a proven ability in budget, resource, and change management
  • Be able to demonstrate sustained impact on teaching, learning, culture and whole school improvement.
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence
