This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access learning and thrive in a mainstream school environment.

As an LSA, you will work closely with the SEN Coordinator to support pupils across a range of needs. You’ll provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with personal care, and help pupils engage with learning activities both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including physical disabilities
  • Assist with learning activities, supervision, and care across different settings
  • Report pupil progress and concerns to teaching staff and contribute to individual education/behaviour plans
  • Support pupils in using resources such as ICT.
  • Participate in school visits and supervise pupils during non-lesson times
  • Liaise with parents/carers and contribute to reports under the direction of the SENCo
  • Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Experience working or caring for children
  • Understanding of SEN and ability to relate well to pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and initiative
  • Level 2 or 3 SEN support qualifications desirable
  • First Aid knowledge advantageous
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
  • Enthusiastic and energetic with a commitment to pupil wellbeing
  • A positive role model and team player
  • Willingness to support whole school events and personal development
