We are looking to appoint reliable and conscientious Casual Exam Invigilators to support the smooth running of examinations throughout the academic year. This role is ideal for individuals who are organised, attentive to detail and able to work calmly under pressure.
Duties will include supervising students during examinations, distributing and collecting exam papers, ensuring exam board regulations are followed at all times, and responding appropriately to any issues that arise.
Successful applicants will be able to give clear instructions, maintain a quiet and orderly environment, and interact professionally with young people and staff.
Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided. Invigilation work is offered on a casual, as-required basis, with sessions typically taking place during school hours.

Invigilator Job Description
Responsibilities:
· To ensure a calm environment which will give the students the best possible opportunity to be successful in their exams.
· To help students at the start and end of each exam and ensure the Joint Council for Qualifications regulations are maintained once students are in the exam room.
· To help provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the exam.
· To help ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by JCQ. (relevant documents will be supplied)
· To be vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates.
· To refer to the Examination Officer if it is suspected that malpractice is taking place.
Main Duties:
· To help distribute exam stationary and exam scripts to students.
· To ensure that students do not leave an examination unless escorted for exceptional reasons: always check with the Lead Invigilator.
· At the end of examinations; help make sure that answer booklets have been completed correctly.
· To help in the collection of exam scripts which need to be collected in order, by candidate number.
· In the event of any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of an examination, to give a verbal report to the Examination Officer.
Personal Qualities:
· Good command of written and spoken English
· Be confident and able to communicate with staff and pupils
· Good team member and also work on own initiative
Hours Required:
External examinations take place during May and June each year and length of sessions can vary, although you will always need to be available for the beginning of each session and for its duration. We also have a number of internal exam sessions which require external invigilators.
No experience necessary as full training will be provided.
