MPS/UPS + MG 1 (£3,527)

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and exceptional individual to be the Lead Teacher of SEND for the new Resource Specialist Provision at Waltham Toll Bar Academy; The Bridgehouse.

Toll Bar’s ‘The Bridgehouse’’ opening in September 2026 will cater for up to 12 children from across North East Lincolnshire who have identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and in receipt of an EHCP.

The Lead Teacher will work closely with a team of up to five support staff and will play a key role, alongside the SENDCO, in collaborating with staff across the academy and colleagues in the Trust, local authority and external agencies to ensure a broad, balanced and specialist curriculum is provided for our children accessing the provision.

We are looking for an experienced classroom teacher who demonstrates a strong desire to ensure children, who have often had negative experiences of education, are able to develop their skills and confidence, using adaptive, personalised teaching strategies.

It is crucial that the Lead Teacher creates a nurturing and empathic approach to teaching, prioritising child-centred relational approaches.

The successful candidate will hold ambitious expectations for all students with additional and special educational needs and disabilities and embed a culture where all can access the curriculum and learn effectively.

Experience of working with children with additional needs, including those with SEMH, is vital and the candidate must have good knowledge and a practical understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.

The Lead Teacher in SEND will have significant impact upon the lives and opportunities experienced by the young people of Waltham and across North East Lincolnshire.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Executive Principal, Vice Principal for Inclusion, SENDCO, staff team and supportive Trust, shaping the direction of travel of the new Bridgehouse provision to support some r our most vulnerable children.

During the first year, the Bridgehouse will offer 6 places and will increase up to 12 places to maximum capacity by the end of the first year.

Our ethos is one of an uncompromising drive to achieve the highest standards of outcomes and behaviour in a safe environment, which encourages every student to experience an exciting and creative climate for learning.

We place a strong emphasis upon pastoral care and teachers will share the determination to offer the very best to our students so that they can thrive personally and academically.
