In this role, you will support the learning, progress, and inclusion of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on those with special educational needs and those requiring additional intervention. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions, helping to improve literacy, numeracy, and subject-specific outcomes while breaking down barriers to learning.
Day to day, you will provide in-class support, adapt resources to meet individual needs, and use a range of strategies to engage and support learners. You will monitor and track student progress within intervention programmes, feeding back to staff and contributing to planning next steps. Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to access the curriculum will be central to your work.
You will play an active role in the wider life of the school, contributing to pastoral support, mentoring, and enrichment activities, while building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. The role also includes supporting supervision, educational visits, and, where required, acting as an exam invigilator or reader/scribe.
As part of a collaborative and inclusive team, you will engage in ongoing professional development, follow guidance from colleagues and external professionals, and contribute to a supportive environment where all students are encouraged to succeed.
