As Teacher of Spanish, with a responsibility to co-ordinate Home Languages, your key duties will include:
- Early identification of eligible students for
the range of Home Language GCSEs offered by AQA and Edexcel
- Liaison with parents about the Home Language additional GCSE
process
- Support and guidance to students with their
journey to success in their Home Language GCSE
- Organisation of Home Language mock examinations and entries
for candidates
- Arrangement and training of Teacher-Examiners
for each Home Language for external mock marking and conducting the Speaking
exams
- Promotion of Home Languages through initiatives
as part of the Academy's ethos
In addition, core Spanish Teaching responsibilities will include:
- Playing a fundamental role in helping to move the MFL department to the next stage in its development
- Planning and deliver high quality and engaging lessons that will challenge students and inspire progression
- Encouraging students to have high expectations of themselves and their behaviour
- Be able to teach GCSE
- Be a positive role model and supportive mentor to students
