North Birmingham Academy seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support high‑quality learning across the curriculum. You will help create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment, provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support, and contribute to students’ academic and personal development.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Provide targeted one‑to‑one or small‑group intervention to help students progress.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and adapting learning resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Support students with additional needs, ensuring access to learning for all.
  • Contribute to assessment by observing, recording and feeding back on student progress.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  •  

    Pay range: SCP 9-17 £23,970.64 - £27284.70  37 hours per week, 39 weeks a year. 

    (FTE £27,254 - £31,022) 

     

    Qualifications and Skills: 

    • GCESs maths & English minimum of grade 4 or equivalent
    • TA1 qualification or relevant experience
    • Knowledge of strategies for spelling, reading and number skills
    • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
    • Ability to extend children's thinking skills
