About this Role

Designated Safeguarding Lead (non-teaching), Term Time Plus 10 Additional Days,  Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, 37.5 Hours Per Week

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented, and providing guidance and support to staff.  This is a key post within the school which requires dedication and a highly efficient and responsible approach.

We are looking for a Designated Safeguarding Lead who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
  • Is an effective listener, able to respond with empathy, professionalism and discretion to safeguarding concerns.
  • Can communicate confidently and sensitively with students, parents/carers and professionals, ensuring clear and appropriate information sharing.
  • Is competent in managing safeguarding referrals, handling confidential and sensitive information, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Can remain calm, decisive and professional when dealing with safeguarding incidents, emergencies or complex situations, ensuring the welfare of children remains paramount.
