We are looking for an Assistant Caretaker to work alongside the Site Manager and other team members to ensure the whole school site is well maintained, safe, and provides a good working environment for staff, students and visitors.
The Role:
As a Site Assistant, you will support the Site Manager and the wider facilities team in maintaining a safe, clean, and secure school site. Your role is essential in supporting the daily operations and contributing to an environment conducive to learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Site Manager with site maintenance and upkeep.
Ensure the school site is safe, tidy, and secure by conducting routine checks and reporting hazards.
Support school events and activities by setting up and clearing areas as required.
Follow safeguarding protocols to protect the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
Work collaboratively within the site team and wider school community.
Locking up duties at the end of the school day to ensure the site is secure.
Working Pattern:
Proposed Hours: 20 hours per week (primarily covering school closing duties), with the possibility of overtime as required
Preferred Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 18:30 (including a 30-minute break)
Hours may be negotiable and discussed further at interview
Skills and Experience:
Ability to work well as part of a team
Commitment to health, safety, and safeguarding procedures
Practical site maintenance skills or willingness to learn
Reliable, proactive, and hardworking
Good communication skills with attention to detail
