About this Role

Fixed Term from September 2026

We are currently looking to appoint a full time (term time only) Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to work on a fixed term basis for one academic year from September 2026. The Teacher will be responsible for leading, and teaching pupils at Key Stage 2, including preparing schemes in line with national guidelines. The role- holder will also be required to teach some other areas of the curriculum as required.

This role will be based at Ripley Court School and will be full time.  

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to support our School ethos by not only providing excellent teaching, but support pupils’ wider development with excellent pastoral care and a willingness to become involved in the School's extra-curricular programme.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning.
  • Promote learning and celebrate achievement through engaging, varied and up to date class displays.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality  and adaptive lessons across the curriculum.
  • Produce schemes of work for across Key Stage 2, ensuring that lessons are at the appropriate national curriculum level.
  • Be responsible for teaching areas of the curriculum as required, including preparing schemes in line with national guidelines. This may include teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 2.
  • Plan opportunities to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
  • Enable pupils to develop and maintain positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Monitor and be responsible for the progress of individual students’ thorough marking, assessment, recording and reporting.
  • Implement strategies to support SEND and EAL pupils in the classroom.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, briefings and planning meetings, INSET days and to share in a range of supervisory duties throughout the day.
  • Ensure that School policies are reflected in daily practice.
  •  Promote strong relationships with parents and carers, communicating with them about all aspects of their child’s education – academic, social and emotional.
  • Attend parents’ evenings, information evenings and other school wide events where required.
  • Undertake such other comparable duties as the Headmaster requires from time to time.
  •  Raise child protection issues, reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and record factual information accurately.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
