About this Role
Polden Bower
School are seeking to appoint an organised HR Assistant to join the existing HR
team. In this role you will assist with various HR functions including all
areas of recruitment and onboarding new staff, staff absence management,
absence leave requests. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator,
detail-orientated and capable of working independently and as part of a team to
ensure HR processes run smoothly. They will need to have excellent IT
skills, great motivation as well as being reliable with a great sense of humour. This post is based 3 days at Polden
Bower School and a day at each of our other schools, The Bridge School and
Avalon School in Street.
The post is 37 hours per
week. 42 weeks per year - Term time plus inset days and 3 additional weeks to
be worked in the school holidays (negotiable)
Term time hours of work: Monday
08.30 am – 5.00 pm Tuesday – Thursday 08.30 - 4.30 pm Friday 08.30 - 3.30 pm.
To start as soon as possible
Grade 13 dependent on experience £23,224 -£25,147 per annum
(pay rise pending)
Main purpose
Daily support for HR team ensuring
the smooth and effective management of all
HR procedures across all of our schools.

Polden Bower is a purpose-built
special school on the edge of Bridgwater. It also has a small Early years and
Key Stage 1 provision in the middle of the town. Polden Bower has 220 children
and young people aged between 4 and 19 years. All children and young people
have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place when they are
placed.
The school is part of a Federation
with Avalon School in Street and a wider partnership with The Bridge
School, a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bridgwater.
