About this Role
The successful candidate will be
able to inspire children aged 5 - 11 from complete beginners to those taking
grades on drum kit.
Experience in leading workshops,
e.g. djembe/samba, would be advantageous (but not essential) as well as a
knowledge of orchestral percussion. There is an exciting opportunity for the
right candidate to grow our percussion department further.
As a Visiting Music Teacher at
Copthill you would be welcomed into a flourishing and busy department where you
will be a team player in preparing children for a range of performances as well
as occasional staff performance opportunities.
Copthill offers wonderful music
facilities separate from the main school with well-resourced, dedicated
practice rooms based around the main music teaching space creating a special
music environment that children love being part of.
The school, founded in 1969 by Mrs
Teesdale around a farmhouse kitchen table, is still located on a farm today and
offers a unique education embracing the outdoors and putting children at the
heart of their learning.
Visits are welcomed
Approximately half a day a week
