About this Role

Join our friendly staff team as a dedicated Healthcare Assistant providing one-to-one support during the school day for key students with complex medical needs.  Working alongside our experience healthcare and therapy team, you will ensure students’ safety, wellbeing and full access to learning while developing specialist clinical skills through comprehensive training.

We have two opportunities working from 8.30am to 3.30pm each day (6.5 hours plus unpaid breaks):

32.5 hours per week: Monday to Friday: £21,037 actual gross p.a.

13 hours per week: Monday and Thursday: £8,415 actual gross p.a.

In this role you will:

  • provide one-to-one care for a student with a tracheostomy, including airway clearance and management (full training provided)
  • support a student with diabetes and additional complex medical needs
  • follow personalised care plans and work closely with our nurses and physiotherapists to deliver safe, coordinated care
  • support other students with complex medical needs when your key student is absent
  • maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families/carers

This is an opportunity for someone who has experience in a healthcare, SEND or care-based role (school or clinical setting) and who is confident, calm and able to respond appropriately in medical situations.  Full training will be provided.  You will be committed to supporting children and young people with complex medical and additional needs, have excellent communication and teamwork skills and be willing to undertake all required training, including tracheostomy and diabetes management.

What we offer:

  • term time working - 39 working weeks plus 6.4 weeks paid holiday
  • ongoing paid training from our nursing and therapy teams
  • generous pension scheme with life cover
  • access to retail discounts, health and wellbeing support including staff well-being sessions and events
  • free on-site parking and refreshments
