About this Role

We are looking for reliable, organised and professional individuals to join our friendly team of Casual Examination Invigilators.

You will play an essential role in ensuring exams are conducted in line with JCQ regulations, supporting students the smooth running of exams and assessments, ensuring that all students are given the opportunity to perform to the best of their ability in a calm, supportive and well-organised environment.

Duties will include setting up examination rooms, supervising students during exams, assisting with access arrangements, ensuring exam regulations are followed and maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the process.

Given the nature of our school, invigilators will work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure appropriate care and assistance are provided throughout the examination period for students with physical or communication needs.

You will be calm, observant and approachable, with a compassionate attitude and the ability to remain focused and professional under pressure.

You will also have good communication and organisational skills, and be able to follow procedures precisely.

Experience of working in a school or supporting young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This is a casual role, with hours offered according to the school’s exam timetable, including mock and formal examination sessions throughout the academic year along with attending training sessions.  There will be a minimum requirement to work one shift per term.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy, interview and appoint earlier if we receive sufficient applications for this role

Valence School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every student and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We value diversity and promote equality for all.

References will be taken up before interview and online checks undertaken for shortlisted candidates.  The successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check (this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act).
