The Role
The primary focus of this role is the supervision of classes in the absence of their timetabled subject teacher. This might be pre-planned, but is often a short notice assignment. Cover Supervisors are provided with work planned for the lesson and are responsible for ensuring students remain on task and make progress using that material.
In addition, you will also:
Undertake duties around the school site, for example at break time
Support school tutoring programmes during extra-curricular time
Have the opportunity to have your own tutor group (timetabling dependant)
Have the opportunity to support extra-curricular visits and groups

You will have the opportunity to develop your classroom management practice, either as someone looking to step into teaching or with an interest in other areas of Education. This is a great role to work within lots of different subjects and classroom dynamics.
You will have access to a host of CPD and training opportunities both internal and external with the option to take on additional responsibilities in areas of interest.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in classroom management
Good supervisory skills
Ability to follow procedures
An understanding of SEND
