About this Role

Saffron Green is a vibrant and inclusive primary school, proudly rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, at the heart of our community, we are looking to recruit a Trainee School Business Manager for our busy, one form entry school.

We are looking for a highly organised, responsible and talented administrator who is looking to expand their skills and train into this multi-faceted and demanding role.  Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in a finance environment and be able to use their own initiative.  Areas of responsibility will ultimately involve overseeing the strategy and operation of the business functions of the school, which would include finance, procurement, premises management, human resources, health and safety.

Our trainee School Business Manager will be supported by our friendly office team and caretaker; and will gradually be supported to take over line management of their roles.  We are supported by HFL finance, payroll and HR who will provide support and training.  We are also enrolled in the HFL School Business Manager support scheme, who will oversee all training and support necessary.   

We wish to appoint this post as soon as possible for 37 hours a week term time plus three weeks (negotiable).

You will be a team player who is efficient, organised and excellent communicator, with a sense of humour and proven leadership and management experience in a school office or similarly high contact and busy environment.  We welcome applicants with transferable skills from other professional settings.

The salary stated is a starting salary and the expectation is that it raise in yearly increments on completion of successful performance management reviews.
