About this Role

Furze Down is an outstanding special school based across two sites in Winslow and Buckingham.  We provide education for 220 pupils aged 4–19 with communication and interaction differences. We are incredibly proud of our nurturing, inclusive environment, where our multi-disciplinary teams place pupils and families at the heart of everything we do.

    Due to school expansion, we are excited to welcome enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who are passionate to join our teams across Primary, KS3, KS4 and 6th Form. This is a great opportunity to be part of something special and contribute to our culture, curriculum and future success.

      About the Role

      As an LSA, you will:

      • Work collaboratively with teachers, Learning Support Assistants and therapists to support pupils’ learning, progress and wellbeing.
      • Provide learning support within the classroom and, where appropriate, in alternative learning environments.
      • Support pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum, engage in learning and experience success.
      • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote pupils’ wellbeing, independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion.
      • Promote inclusive practice and contribute to a calm, safe and supportive learning environment across the school.
      • Support the development of pupils’ communication, social and emotional skills.
      • Support pupils with personal care needs where required, in line with training and school procedures.
      • Contribute to planning, record‑keeping and the delivery of structured interventions to support pupil progress.

      Previous experience is welcome but not essential - your attitude, values and commitment are what matter most.
